It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go…although this coming Christmas has a viral cloud hanging over it that none of us can escape. And it's making holiday preparation very confusing at best with messages in the media to STAY home, SHOP online, and SUPPORT local while also relaxing, staying healthy AND worrying, all at the same time...

I have noticed that many people have already decorated for the holidays and I am not at all surprised to see the lights twinkling this early. In a world of unknowns, pulling out our cherished decorations and dreaming of tradition is stabilizing and normalizing!

In this crazy year, home has become the TRUE center of our daily lives in a way that has never been more important. Home is where we feel safe, where we can take off our masks, where we can freely breathe and laugh and talk. So it seems to me that this year decorating for the holidays is a way to celebrate the place we almost never leave while also looking a bit forward to some celebration and light and to the coming new year.

Home is always where the heart is, and this year it’s also in many ways ALL there is, so may yours be filled with warmth and health and enough decorations and Christmas music that you forget about everything else and just smile, even for a moment.
