Kevin and I are now empty nesters...our family home is filled with memories and leftover clutter but now hosts the heavy footsteps of our beloved children only on breaks and holidays.

Many of our friends and clients are also at this same stage of life (don't even ask me about the friends with littles...oh my, they must be TIRED...). 

The discussions in our peer groups are often about what will come next. A lifetime devoted to raising your children is all encompassing and when they leave so much of our energy and care is left with no outlet to focus on. And so, for many, the focus turns to planning and dreaming. Travel and cars and homes and new careers, hobbies and restaurants and sleep! The possibilities are endless and since the home is the root of all the rest, thoughts often turn to what is commonly referred to as downsizing.

This word, DOWNSIZE. It just does not fit for this stage of life. I propose EVOLVING, SHEDDING, RENEWING.

I so often hear a request to help downsize when what is actually sought is a refresh in circumstance, a simplicity of new routine, a repurposing of space once devoted to parenting.

As always Kevin and I seek to serve our indivudal clients needs, whatever they may be, and oh how I am loving being a part of this process with our clients. Its an honour and a privilege to consult and advise our clients on their path to whats next
